Liebster Award Nomination

I've been nominated for the Liebster Award by Mommy Does It All. I was shocked to see the nomination posted on my Twitter feed this past week. I had a pretty up and down week and it made my day to see a fellow blogger nominate me. Thank you, Taylor. I hope everyone stops by Mommy Does It All and checks out her great blog.

Here are the rules for the Liebster Award:

1. Thank the blogger that nominated you

2. Answer 11 questions asked by the blogger (located toward end of post)

3. Provide 11 random facts about yourself

4. Nominate 5 or more bloggers with fewer than 500 followers

5. Let all of the nominees know they have been nominated

6. Write 11 new questions for your nominees

Questions from Mommy Does It All :

1) What is your biggest goal in life?
My biggest goal in life is to become a recognized writer. I don't want to be rich or famous, just recognized. I know their is a book waiting to be written by me, I just haven't had the guts to go for it yet. I will someday.

2) Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog, because I like to write. I had heard about 'blogging' and wanted to give it a shot. Since I started Woman in the Man Cave I have gone through some huge life changes and my blog has been a nice place where I can release my mind.

3) What is one of the most significant moments that has occurred in your life?
I have a lot of significant moments in my life. Meeting my husband, having my sons, and completing my degree. The one moment that has been significant and life changing at the same time was being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in April 2013.

4) Who do you look up to the most (you don’t have to know them)?
Eleanor Roosevelt has been my hero for a LONG time. I remember one summer when I was a kid the library I always went to gave away free bookmarks with historical figures images and facts on them. I picked up the Eleanor Roosevelt bookmark. I immediately became intrigued just after reading a few facts about her. From that point on I wanted to learn as much as possible about Eleanor. She was amazing, inspiring, and one tough woman. Very ahead of her time. I still have that bookmark and carry it around in my billfold. On occasion, I'll spot it tucked away and it helps remind me to never settle for less than what I want to achieve.

5) What is one place that you would love to visit in your lifetime?
Scotland or New Zealand. I think the landscape is beautiful. Plus, I want to spend the night in a castle once so I can walk around bellowing "Call me your Queen!".

6) Name one new skill that you would love to learn in the near future.
I have become a foodie thanks to my Pinterest challenge. So, I guess I'd like to get better at cooking and coming up with my own, original recipes. Oh, and I'd like to know how to use more power tools without having to bug my husband.

7) What is your favorite TV show?
Rehab Addict (DIY) and The Pioneer Woman (Food Network).

8) What is your favorite part about having your blog?
I just like refining my writing skills. I feel my blog lets me do that. I can go back and read my posts to see where I need to improve. I'll admit, there are some posts I can't believe I published. I would delete them, but I'm not perfect. So, why try to act like I am?

9) Favorite snack?
Chips and salsa, by far!  I could live on chips and salsa.

10) What is your favorite thing to do with your kid(s)?
I like to ride around in the car and sing whatever song is on the radio them. I like talking computer geek stuff with my oldest son and teaching my younger son how to cook. We have fun just being together.

11) What is your favorite thing to do, alone?
My favorite thing to do would have to be read. I have told my husband countless times I am going to check in to a hotel for a few days just so I can get some peace and quiet to read.

11 Random Facts About Me:

1. I have a degree in biotechnology

2. Elephants are my favorite animals.

3. I have known I wanted to be a writer and photographer since I was 11.

4. I met Adam West <---- Batman!! I was one of the official Mid-Ohio Comic Con photographers and I
got to shoot the press conference where he and Burt Ward (Robin) were speaking. I am a huge Batman
   fan.

5.  My pug's name is Vader.

6.  I have almost completed another degree in Mass Communications. Had to put things on hold, because
     life happened.

7. My favorite color is green.

8. I love glass. I have all sorts of different colored vases and bottles throughout my house. I like to find them
at garage sales and incorporate them into my home decorating.

9. I love garage sales and thrift stores. I like having unique items in my home that not everyone has. The
    older, the better.

10.  I love the Hunger Game movies. I have the books, but I'm waiting to read them until I've seen all of the
movies. I can't stand watching a movie after I've read the books. I like to be surprised! Too often they
leave really great parts of books missing from the movies. So, I watch the movies first. Save the best for
       last!

11. I didn't plan on being a mom when I was younger. I had always said I didn't want kids. Then I met my
husband and realized I wanted to have a family with him. Glad I did, because I love my sons and can't
      imagine life without them.

                           ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting to know other bloggers is the idea behind the Liebster Awards. It's a way to let others in on a side of you they don't always get to see in your blog. Since I have let you get to know me a little better, I'd like to learn more about the following bloggers and would like to nominate:

Since you have been nominated please be sure to complete the following steps:

Here are the rules for the Liebster Award:

1. Thank the blogger that nominated you

2. Answer 11 questions asked by the blogger

3. Provide 11 random facts about yourself

4. Nominate 5 or more bloggers with fewer than 500 followers

5. Let all of the nominees know they have been nominated

6. Write 11 new questions for your nominees

Here are the questions you need to answer, should you choose to accept this nomination:

1. What was your initial feeling when you were first diagnosed with MS?

2. Who is your hero?

3.  If you could be anything or anyone, outlandish or not, what/who would you choose to be?

4.  What is your favorite book and why?

5.  What are three websites you visit most often?

6.  Favorite food?

7.  What is one of your hobbies and how long have you been at it?

8.  Why do you blog?

9.  When you blog do you hold back sometimes because you  are afraid of what others reading it may think?

10.  What is your biggest goal in life? Have you achieved it?

11.  Who's your favorite super hero?

Have fun with this. Now you get to nominate five or more blogs that you like or ones that you think deserve to be nominated. Try to pick blogs with fewer than 500 followers on their actual site. This may be difficult to determine (I don't have my follower count listed on mine), so just nominate blogs that need to be recognized.

:)  Take care,
NB
