Since it has been so nice, I've made it a point to work outside as much as possible. I have projects to complete and now is as good a time as any! It helps having this Pinterest challenge, I have started adding to my creative chaos.
Speaking of Pinterest, I have been busy using pins to do quite a few things. Most notably, I used a Pin to make some cupcakes and cake for my husband's 40th birthday this weekend. I usually buy a store-made cake. This year was a big birthday. So I figured I'd go the homemade route for it. I made the cakes on Friday (Day 15) night using a Facebook Pin that called for substituting butter and milk for the oil and water that is typically required in our cake batter recipes. This made the cake moist and it did not dry out like they normally do after a day. It was a good idea! I iced it with some homemade chocolate icing on Saturday. Good stuff!
Also on Friday night we made some chocolate cupcakes using another Pin. This was the Salted Caramel icing recipe. Instead of only putting the pretzels on top, I added slices of my husband's favorite candy bar, Milky Way Caramel. Let me tell you something, this was freakin' good! I got rave reviews from everyone who ate one. They were simple and a nice twist from typical cupcakes. Here's the Pin: Salted Caramel Icing on Chocolate Fudge Cupcakes
My Friday and Saturday projects were all about cake. So, for my Sunday (Day 19) Pin project. I went with a simple Crescent Chicken Recipe that called for a can of jumbo crescent rolls, some chicken, a can of cream of chicken, and some cheddar cheese. It was super easy to make and came out tasting delicious. I would recommend this recipe for an easy go-to weeknight meal. Here's the pin for this one: Crescent Chicken Recipe.
As always, don't forget to come over to Pinterest and follow me. I've got a lot of Pins to work on. Also, don't forget I'm having a Woolzies Dryer Balls giveaway. It's easy to enter and only takes a few moments. This giveaway ends Saturday night at 11:59 EST. So, get your entries in.
