Fekkai Knows Good Hair

The fabulous team at Birchbox recently had a giveaway for their Birchbloggers and I won an amazing Fekkai hair product trio. So, I figured I'd fill you all in on the amazing products I received. Before I start though, if you are unfamiliar with Birchbox then you simply must be educated. I have been a Birchbox monthly box subscriber for going on two years. I absolutely love my monthly subscription box. Each month, I receive a wonderful little box of five or more high-end beauty samples. Everything from shampoo to perfume and even the occasional tea or treat. The people at Birchbox know how to make a girl feel pampered.

My favorite part of the whole thing is that they customize the products you receive according to your profile. You fill out a brief questionnaire of sorts and then they know what types of products to send. Another perk is if I get a sample I love, I know I can go to birchbox.com and order a full-sized product.  I don't have to go looking around at other retailers to find that product. So convenient, and when you shop on their site you also earn points that way as well. I love it!

Okay, so I've filled you in on my favorite monthly subscription box. There's so much more to their site, but you get the general idea. Now I'm going to let you know about the amazing Fekkai products I got to try. I have fine hair. The kind that doesn't hold a curl and looks kind of flat most of the time. I struggle with finding products that don't weigh it down or leave my hair feeling greasy and gross.

When I first received the products I had to try them out. First thing's first, I had to give them the smell test. Nothing is worse than stinky hair. All three products have a nice, inviting smell. Especially the elixir which has a light vanilla, woody scent. It smells really good and you can smell the light fragrance in your hair for a while. Both the hairspray and the blowout spray have a nice light scent that doesn't overpower your senses.

The Blowout Hair Refresher is amazing. I tested it by letting my fine hair get greasy. I mean "oh my goodness, you need to wash your hair" greasy. Then I gave it a try. It didn't weigh my limp locks down at all and did an amazing job at making my hair look clean.

Of course, I was too excited to wait to try the Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray and the PrX Mending Elixir. I hopped in the shower so I could get my Fekkai on. The PrX Mending Elixir is super simple to use. You simply towel dry your hair and then put a little of the wonderful smelling concoction in the palm of your hand. Then, you use your hands to warm it. After that, you apply it to your hair from the mid-point down. Then, style your hair as normal. This stuff is amazing. My hair felt so soft and wasn't flat. I was worried since this is an oil that it would make my hair look awful. It didn't at all. The elixir added a little body and shine. Two things that I love to see in my hair. I followed up with their Sheer Hold Hairspray and it did a fabulous job too. Kept those unruly hairs in place without that stiff look. Just a nice, light hairspray that does what it's supposed to.

I didn't want to just give my hair the test. I shared the products with one of my besties, Sarah. She has AMAZING hair. The kind women are really jealous of. Her hair is long and gorgeous and I figured what better test subject. I gave her the products to try to see how they worked on thicker hair. After a few days of trying the fabulous Fekkai products for herself, she had nothing but good things to say. She agreed the PrX Mending Elixir was wonderful. Not only did it work for my fine hair, but it does great for thicker hair too. She absolutely loved the hairspray. It kept her bangs in check without taking away that natural look. Way to go, Fekkai. A product that works for all hair types.
